Scripture Letters (Dear Layne Staley)

Dear Layne:
You've been in eternity for several years now, but I wanted to write and say thank you for all the music you created during your brief time in this world. I know living on earth was hard for you(Job 14:1-2), but I hope that you made a decision to have Christ as your Lord and Savior(John 6:37) before you overdosed.(Galatians 6:8) I know some of your music contained lyrics that alluded to God and the things of faith. But if there is anything I could tell people that you knew while on earth, it's this: God is real. And He loves the world(John 3:16) so much that He came to save everyone that will ever be born here. He also desires that we who know Him(Philippians 3:10) in a personal relationship, keep believing and obeying Him(Matthew 24:13) so that He will get the praise and we may experience His wonder in our lives.(Psalm 16:11) Mr. Staley: Your life ended short, but my prayer(2 Peter 3:9) is that many of your friends and family will come to know my God and that the truth of mercy triumphing over judgment is real.(Psalm 16:11)
